Weight Problem Guinea Pig

Hiya,

Today's post is for those out there that might be suffering with a weight issue.
You've probably tried all sorts of diets and fitness regimes in the past but it either doesn't work or the weight simply piles back on.

Ever thought about hypnosis?

Two reasons I ask:
1. I've tried hypnosis in the past for some motivational issues and it absolutely worked 100%.
2. If you could try it risk fr.ee - guaranteed, what would you have to lose (except weight!)?

So, Dr Robert Anthony renowned US hypnotherapist, best selling author etc. etc. wants 500 guinea pigs to try out his program (I'm guessing cos he wants a bunch of great testimonials afterwards), simply go to this link below and take a look, see if you're interested - if not you've only wasted 5 minutes.

If you do end up trying it, come back and leave a comment, I'd love to know how it went.

FREE Stuff!

So here’s the thing - I’m not gonna try and inspire you
today. I just want you to take advantage of a giveaway
on a website that’s offering over 300 products at
absolutely zero cost!!
(One of which might inspire you.)

In just a few minutes last night I downloaded several
items, one of which was a book that I’ve been meaning
to read for years now - Think and Grow Rich, by
Napoleon Hill - a classic book of self improvement,
written in the 30s and apparently responsible for helping
to make more millionaires than any other book written.

The products being ‘given’ away include:
Stop Smoking
Healthy Eating
Self Hypnosis
Losing Weight
Building Confidence
Improving Business
Meditation

to name just a few.

So what’s the catch?

Each product you click to download will open another
window where they try and sell you something else.
Fair enough. Just scroll to the bottom of the page and they’ll
all have a link or button saying: “No thanks, just give me the gift.”
Click that and you’ll get an email sent to you with a download link.

Don’t worry about being on a ton of email lists because each
email has an unsubscribe button on it, so as soon as you have
the product just unsubscribe (if you want to).
To be honest a couple of the sites I want to remain on their list
for a while to see what they’re like.

So here’s the link to the site - take a browse and I hope you
find something of value there - it won’t cost you anything!!
:)

what you want - so if you’re interested, hurry!

- bookmark this blog to make it easier to revisit.

Thought for today

Hiya,

Winston Churchill was once asked what the secret to success was and he apparently replied:
"Never give up. Never ever ever ever ever ever ever ever give up. Never give up!"

Imagine you had a bucket of oysters and were told one had a pearl inside and you decided to find it.
You opened the first but sprained your thumb, you continued and on the fourth you cut your finger, you continued and on the tenth one you twisted your wrist - would you consider stopping?

My guess is no - you would just change the tools you were using.

If you're striving for something and it's not coming, continue, but maybe think about using different tools.

You'll be happy when...

Hiya,

Ever told someone or even yourself, in one of those quiet moments - "I'll be happy when..." ?

I bet there were a bunch of different endings to that sentence.

"I'll be happy when I get a better job."
"I'll be happy when I find the love of my life."
"I'll be happy when I have the time to...[fill in the blank]"
"I'll be happy when I finally go on holiday."
And probably the most common...
"I'll be happy when I win the lottery."

According to some studies we have a base 'happy' level. Within 12 months of some major event in our lives, good or bad, we resonate back to that base level. If you're one of the lucky ones that hovers rather high on the happiness barometer - well done you! If not, here are a few ways you can increase your happiness on a physiological level.

Certain hormones are known to be responsible for giving us those good feelings:
Serotonin - the happyness hormone, you get a boost from some foods and when you succeed
Oxytocin - the hugging hormone, your body gets a boost of this when you feel loved and comforted
Endorphin - the pain relief hormone, produced when you're under pressure or pain or stress - endorphins allow animals to feel a sense of power and control over themselves that allows them to persist with activity for an extended time.

7 Ways to boost your happiness hormones:

1. Sleep and wake at the same time - get in to a pattern
2. Get some sunshine as soon after waking as possible as sunlight on the retina flicks your serotonin 'on' switch on and your nighttime melatonin 'off' button off.
3. Do at least 30 mins excercise every other day - the physical effort actually produces those hormones!
4. Relaaaaax - take a walk, listen to some soothing music, take along bath, paint a picture or play an instrument or whatever relaxing hobby you might have.
5. LAUGH! Tests have shown that even the anticipation of enjoyment starts to increase your happy hormones.
6. Hug someone - or get a massage - the physical contact itself produces Oxytocin
7. Eat carbs - rice, potatoes, pasta, quinoa, wholegrain bread, cereal.

This last one is debateable as some studies show carbs mixed with the wrong other foods or at the wrong time of day etc. etc. can actually be harmful. If you ask me - if it tastes good - it'll help!! :)

At the end of the day the physiological evidence has a more profound meaning, that our happiness comes from the inside out. We shouldn't rely on outside 'stuff' to determine our 'inside' mood. Although the 7 points above might help increase your feeling of well being a bit, the only real way to find lasting happiness is from finding your life's purpose and then flinging yourself headlong in to that. If you're not sure what that might be - join the queue.

That's for another post.

Human 'Beings'

Hiya,

I can't remember who said "...we are human 'beings' NOT human 'doings'..."

I know - it's a clever play on words, but what does it mean?

Goethe said:
"Before you can do something, you must 'be' something."

Now he was a smart bloke. So my pondering today if you want to join me is; if I stopped thinking for a moment about what I'd like to 'do' and instead thought a bit about what I'd like to BE more, what would that 'be'?

When Muhammed Ali was asked: "If you hadn't been a boxer what would you have been?"
He replied: "The best! I'd have been the best at whatever I did, the best dustman, the best roadsweeper...etc." (I'm paraphrasing)
The point is - his attitude. He would have 'been' the best at whatever he set his mind to. Think about what impact that kind of attitude would have on your life if you decided to adopt it in everything you did.

If you decided to BE the best...surveyor, product manager, school teacher, nurse, estate agent etc. you could possibly be.
If you decided to BE the best...husband, wife, partner, daughter, son, brother, sister etc. you could possibly be.
If you decided to BE the best...friend, colleague, neighbour, citizen etc. you could possibly be.
If you decided to BE the best...communicator, inspirer, nurturer, adventurer etc. you could possibly be.
If you decided to BE the best mountain climber, swimmer, runner, footballer, dancer etc. you could possibly be.

The list is endless, play around with it, give it some thought, ask yourself ; Am I being the best I can be?

Ask yourself this...

If I got what I wanted, would I have what I want?

It's not a trick question.

If I got what I wanted, would I have what I want?

I'm sure you remember sometime in your life when you thought you reeeeally wanted something - a new watch or car or house or pair of shoes, and when you finally got it, you thought, well that was a bit of an anti climax! I'm not saying that everything you desire brings that experience once you have it. I'm simply asking are you sure that what you 'think' you want is 'actually' what you want?

I'm going to think about this question for a bit and see if I think differently about any of the things I think I want - an Audi R8 for example - I think it's beautiful, I'd love to have one - for a while anyway. I already presume that once the novelty has worn off I'd probably grow bored of it.

So why are we wanting all these things in the first place? Maybe we think we'll be more satisfied, happier, more secure yada yada. Maybe what we should actually be doing is thinking about how we want to 'be'.

Are you 'being' who you want to be? If not then maybe get back in touch with those experiences that reinforce how you want to be feeling. If you've always dreamt about playing an instrument go play one, if you always wanted to start your own business go start one.
Mark Twain once said:

" Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn't do than by the ones you did. So throw off the bowlines, sail away from the safe harbor, catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover. "

We only live THIS life once so go live it - we're not on a rehearsal.

For Lou

Hiya,

We're all guilty of moaning and groaning from time to time
about our lot etc. etc. But I read somewhere a while back
that it's how we react to what's going on in our lives that
makes us unhappy or happy. We just have to look at things
differently - yeah I know, easier said than done.

Best thing is to have a go and see.

Neale Donald Walsch (yes, him again!) says it quite nicely:

"...that it sometimes looks like "one thing after the other,"
but really, it is Blessing After Blessing.

I know, I know...you don't experience it that way. But
that's because you don't see it that way. In this business
of life, "What you see is what you get."

If you think you are looking at struggle, struggle is what
you will experience. If you decide that you are looking
at a gift (even if you can't see it clearing in this exact
moment), a gift is what you will get. Just wait. You'll
see. I mean that literally. You will see." - NDW
